James 1:16-18 CEV Don't be fooled, my dear friends. (17) Every good and perfect gift comes down from the Father who created all the lights in the heavens. He is always the same and never makes dark shadows by changing. (18) He wanted us to be his own special people, and so he sent the true message to give us new birth.

(18) By his own will he brought us into being through the word of truth, so that we should have first place among all his creatures.

James 1:16-18 GW My dear brothers and sisters, don't be fooled. (17) Every good present and every perfect gift comes from above, from the Father who made the sun, moon, and stars. The Father doesn't change like the shifting shadows produced by the sun and the moon. (18) God decided to give us life through the word of truth to make us his most important creatures.
