John 8:21-31 NWT ... 21 Hence he said to them again: “I am going away, and YOU will look for me, and yet YOU will die in YOUR sin. Where I am going YOU cannot come.” 22 Therefore the Jews began to say: “He will not kill himself, will he? Because he says, ‘Where I am going YOU cannot come.’” 23 So he went on to say to them: “YOU are from the realms below; I am from the realms above. YOU are from this world; I am not from this world. 24 Therefore I said to YOU, YOU will die in YOUR sins. For if YOU do not believe that I am [he], YOU will die in YOUR sins.” 25 Therefore they began to say to him: “Who are you?” Jesus said to them: “Why am I even speaking to YOU at all? 26 I have many things to speak concerning YOU and to pass judgment upon. As a matter of fact, he that sent me is true, and the very things I heard from him I am speaking in the world.” 27 They did not grasp that he was talking to them about the Father. 28 Therefore Jesus said: “When once YOU have lifted up the Son of man, then YOU will know that I am [he], and that I do nothing of my own initiative; but just as the Father taught me I speak these things. 29 And he that sent me is with me; he did not abandon me to myself, because I always do the things pleasing to him.” 30 As he was speaking these things, many put faith in him. 31 And so Jesus went on to say to the Jews that had believed him: “If YOU remain in my word, YOU are really my disciples,

John 8:21-31 GNB ... (21) Again Jesus said to them, "I will go away; you will look for me, but you will die in your sins. You cannot go where I am going." (22) So the Jewish authorities said, "He says that we cannot go where he is going. Does this mean that he will kill himself?" (23) Jesus answered, "You belong to this world here below, but I come from above. You are from this world, but I am not from this world. (24) That is why I told you that you will die in your sins. And you will die in your sins if you do not believe that 'I Am Who I Am'." (25) "Who are you?" they asked him. Jesus answered, "What I have told you from the very beginning. (26) I have much to say about you, much to condemn you for. The one who sent me, however, is truthful, and I tell the world only what I have heard from him." (27) They did not understand that Jesus was talking to them about the Father. (28) So he said to them, "When you lift up the Son of Man, you will know that 'I Am Who I Am'; then you will know that I do nothing on my own authority, but I say only what the Father has instructed me to say. (29) And he who sent me is with me; he has not left me alone, because I always do what pleases him." (30) Many who heard Jesus say these things believed in him. (31) So Jesus said to those who believed in him, "If you obey my teaching, you are really my disciples;

John 8:21-31 GW ... (21) Jesus spoke to the Pharisees again. He said, "I'm going away, and you'll look for me. But you will die because of your sin. You can't go where I'm going." (22) Then the Jews asked, "Is he going to kill himself? Is that what he means when he says, 'You can't go where I'm going'?" (23) Jesus said to them, "You're from below. I'm from above. You're from this world. I'm not from this world. (24) For this reason I told you that you'll die because of your sins. If you don't believe that I am the one, you'll die because of your sins." (25) The Jews asked him, "Who did you say you are?" Jesus told them, "I am who I said I was from the beginning. (26) I have a lot I could say about you and a lot I could condemn you for. But the one who sent me is true. So I tell the world exactly what he has told me." (27) (The Jews didn't know that he was talking to them about the Father.) (28) So Jesus told them, "When you have lifted up the Son of Man, then you'll know that I am the one and that I can't do anything on my own. Instead, I speak as the Father taught me. (29) Besides, the one who sent me is with me. He hasn't left me by myself. I always do what pleases him." (30) As Jesus was saying this, many people believed in him. (31) So Jesus said to those Jews who believed in him, "If you live by what I say, you are truly my disciples.

You will note the reference windows often include more than one translation of the Bible. The reason is to strive to gain the best possible understanding of the original Hebrew and Greek. Since we don't speak those languages, we rely on those who have come before and made the effort to translate those texts into English for us. Considering several translations gives the benefit of the understanding of several translation committees or individuals.
