Luke 17:20-30 MWT Some Religious Leaders asked Jesus when God's kingdom would come. He answered, "God's kingdom isn't something you can observe with your eyes. ["Individuals" must personally choose to submit to God's kingdom in their heart, by expressing faith in Christ's words.] (21) Many will be saying, 'Look! Here it is' or 'Look! There it is.' Don't believe them! God's kingdom is here with you [The Kingdom remains temporarily unseen, as it acts from the spirit world: Christ is yet subduing in the midst of his enemies, (Ps 110:2) using his words to give rebirth to a new creation (Gal 6:15-16; John 6:63b)]." (22) Jesus said to his disciples: The time will come when you will long to see one of the days of the Son of Man, but you will not (people will long for the days when Jesus spoke to mankind openly - individuals who are seeking God realize Jesus is still speaking from the Gospels). (23) When people say to you, "Look there," or "Look here," don't go looking for him. (24) The day of the Son of Man will be like lightning flashing across the sky. [Christ's return is manifest in an awakening among the righteous to the value and need for his teachings. (Mark 4:35-41 Plus) Those who refuse to listen to Christ  will die  "are dying" in their sins. (John 8:24)] (25) But first he must suffer terribly and be rejected by the people of today. (26) When the Son of Man comes, things will be just as they were when Noah lived. (27) People were eating, drinking, and getting married right up to the day when Noah went into the big boat. Then the flood came and drowned everyone on earth. (28) When Lot lived, people were also eating and drinking. They were buying, selling, planting, and building. (29) But on the very day Lot left Sodom, fiery flames poured down from the sky and killed everyone. (30) The same will happen on the day when the Son of Man appears. [Green brackets with text are added reference notes.]

Luke 17:20-30 CEV Some Pharisees asked Jesus when God's kingdom would come. He answered, "God's kingdom isn't something you can see. (21) There is no use saying, 'Look! Here it is' or 'Look! There it is.' God's kingdom is here with you (through faith in Christ's words [John 6:63b])." (22) Jesus said to his disciples: The time will come when you will long to see one of the days of the Son of Man, but you will not. (23) When people say to you, "Look there," or "Look here," don't go looking for him. (24) The day of the Son of Man will be like lightning flashing across the sky. (25) But first he must suffer terribly and be rejected by the people of today.

Luke 17:20-30 GNB Some Pharisees asked Jesus when the Kingdom of God would come. His answer was, "The Kingdom of God does not come in such a way as to be seen. (21) No one will say, 'Look, here it is!' or, 'There it is!'; because the Kingdom of God is within you (through faith in the words of Christ [John 6:63b])." (22) Then he said to the disciples, "The time will come when you will wish you could see one of the days of the Son of Man, but you will not see it. (23) There will be those who will say to you, 'Look, over there!' or, 'Look, over here!' But don't go out looking for it. (24) As the lightning flashes across the sky and lights it up from one side to the other, so will the Son of Man be in his day. (25) But first he must suffer much and be rejected by the people of this day. (26) As it was in the time of Noah so shall it be in the days of the Son of Man. (27) Everybody kept on eating and drinking, and men and women married, up to the very day Noah went into the boat and the flood came and killed them all. (28) It will be as it was in the time of Lot. Everybody kept on eating and drinking, buying and selling, planting and building. (29) On the day Lot left Sodom, fire and sulfur rained down from heaven and killed them all. (30) That is how it will be on the day the Son of Man is revealed.

Luke 17:20-30 ESV Being asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, he answered them, "The kingdom of God is not coming with signs to be observed, (21) nor will they say, 'Look, here it is!' or 'There!' for behold, the kingdom of God is in the midst of you (by faith in Christ's words [John 6:63b])." (22) And he said to the disciples, "The days are coming when you will desire to see one of the days of the Son of Man, and you will not see it. (23) And they will say to you, 'Look, there!' or 'Look, here!' Do not go out or follow them. (24) For as the lightning flashes and lights up the sky from one side to the other, so will the Son of Man be in his day. (25) But first he must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation. (26) Just as it was in the days of Noah, so will it be in the days of the Son of Man. (27) They were eating and drinking and marrying and being given in marriage, until the day when Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all. (28) Likewise, just as it was in the days of Lot--they were eating and drinking, buying and selling, planting and building, (29) but on the day when Lot went out from Sodom, fire and sulfur rained from heaven and destroyed them all-- (30) so will it be on the day when the Son of Man is revealed.

Luke 17:20-30 GW The Pharisees asked Jesus when the kingdom of God would come. He answered them, "People can't observe the coming of the kingdom of God. (21) They can't say, 'Here it is!' or 'There it is!' You see, the kingdom of God is within you (by faith in the words of Christ [John 6:63b])." (22) Jesus said to his disciples, "The time will come when you will long to see one of the days of the Son of Man, but you will not see it. (23) People will say, 'There he is!' or 'Here he is!' Don't run after those people. (24) The day of the Son of Man will be like lightning that flashes from one end of the sky to the other. (25) But first he must suffer a lot and be rejected by the people of his day. (26) "When the Son of Man comes again, the situation will be like the time of Noah. (27) People were eating, drinking, and getting married until the day that Noah went into the ship. Then the flood destroyed all of them. (28) "The situation will also be like the time of Lot. People were eating, drinking, buying and selling, planting and building. (29) But on the day that Lot left Sodom, fire and sulfur rained from the sky and destroyed all of them. (30) The day when the Son of Man is revealed will be like that.

You will note the reference windows often include more than one translation of the Bible. The reason is to strive to gain the best possible understanding of the original Hebrew and Greek. Since we don't speak those languages, we rely on those who have come before and made the effort to translate those texts into English for us. Considering several translations gives the benefit of the understanding of several translation committees or individuals.
