(13) But the angel said to him, "Stop being afraid, Zacharias, for your petition was heard, and your wife Elizabeth will bear a son to you, and you will call his name John. (14) "And [there] will be joy to you and great happiness, and many will rejoice at his birth. (15) "For he will be great before Lord, and he shall by no means drink wine and strong drink, and he will be filled [with the] Holy Spirit even from his mother's womb. (16) "And he will turn many of the sons [and daughters] of Israel to the Lord their God. (17) "And _he_ will go before Him in [the] spirit and power of Elijah, to turn hearts [fig., inner selves, and throughout book] of fathers to children, and disobedient [ones] to the way of thinking of righteous [ones], to make ready a people having been prepared for the Lord."

(16) And many of the children of Israel shall be turn unto the Lord their God. (17) And he shall go before his face in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to walk in the wisdom of the just; to make ready for the Lord a people prepared for him.
