Mark 9:38-42 NWT
. . .John said to him: "Teacher, we saw a certain man expelling demons by the use of your name and we tried to prevent him, because he was not accompanying us." 39 But Jesus said: "Do not try to prevent him, for there is no one that will do a powerful work on the basis of my name that will quickly be able to revile me; 40 for he that is not against us is for us. 41 For whoever gives you a cup of water to drink on the ground that you belong to Christ, I truly tell you, he will by no means lose his reward. 42 But whoever stumbles one of these little ones that believe, it would be finer for him if a millstone such as is turned by an ass were put around his neck and he were actually pitched into the sea.

Mark 9:38-42 BBE
(38) John said to him, Master, we saw one driving out evil spirits in your name: and we said that he might not, because he is not one of us. (39) But Jesus said, Say not so: for there is no man who will do a great work in my name, and be able at the same time to say evil of me. (40) He who is not against us is for us. (41) Whoever gives you a cup of water, because you are Christ's, truly I say to you, he will in no way be without his reward. (42) And whoever is a cause of trouble to one of these little ones who have faith in me, it would be better for him if a great stone was put round his neck and he was dropped into the sea.

Mark 9:38-42 ALT
(38) Then John answered Him, saying, "Teacher, we saw someone casting out demons in Your name, who does not follow us, and we tried to prevent him, because he does not follow us." (39) But Jesus said, "Stop preventing him, for [there] is no one who will perform a miraculous work in [or, on the basis of] My name and will soon [afterwards] be able to speak evil of Me. (40) "For [the one] who is not against you* is for you*. (41) "For whoever gives you* a cup of water to drink in My name because you* are Christ's, positively I say to you*, he shall by no means lose his reward. (42) "And whoever causes one of the little [ones] believing [or, trusting] in Me to stumble [fig., to sin], it is better for him if rather a millstone [i.e. a large stone used for grinding grain] is hung around his neck, and he has been cast into the sea.

Mark 9:38-42 LITV
(38) And John answered Him, saying, Teacher, we saw someone casting out demons in Your name, who does not follow us. And we forbade him, because he does not follow us. (39) But Jesus said, Do not forbid him. For there is no one who shall do a work of power in My name, yet be able to speak evil of Me quickly. (40) For who is not against us is for us. (41) For whoever gives you a cup of cold water to drink in My name, because you are of Christ, truly I say to you, In no way he will lose his reward. (42) And whoever causes one of these little ones that believe in Me to offend, it is good for him if rather a millstone be laid about his neck, and he be thrown into the sea.

You will note the reference windows often include more than one translation of the Bible. The reason is to strive to gain the best possible understanding of the original Hebrew and Greek. Since we don't speak those languages, we rely on those who have come before and made the effort to translate those texts into English for us. Considering several translations gives the benefit of the understanding of several translation committees or individuals.
The Translations we quote are:

ALT - Analytical Literal Translation

ASV - American Standard Version (by the American revision committee in 1897).

Darby - 1889 Darby Bible

DRB - 1899 Douay-Rheims Bible

BBE - 1965 Bible in Basic English

LITV - Literal Translation of the Holy Bible

KJV - King James Version

MKJV - Modern King James Version

NWT - New World Translation

Webster - 1833 Webster Bible

RV - Revised Version
