Numbers 12:1-16 MWT . . .And Miriam and Aaron spoke against Moses, because of the Cushite woman whom he had taken. For he had taken a Cushite wife from Sudan. (2) And they said, Has spoken only by Moses? Has He not also spoken by us? And יהוה was listening... (3) And the man Moses was very meek, more so than any man on the face of the earth. (4) And said suddenly to Moses, and to Aaron, and to Miriam, You three come out to the tabernacle of the congregation. And the three of them came out. (5) And יהוה came down in the pillar of the cloud and stood at the tabernacle door, and called Aaron and Miriam. And both of them came out. (6) And He said, Now hear My words, When my prophet is among you, I make Myself seen by him in an appearance; I will speak to him in a dream. (7) It is not so with My servant Moses! He is faithful in all My house. (8) I speak to him mouth to mouth, and by an appearance, and not in riddles; and he looks upon the form of . So why have you not been afraid to speak against My servant, against Moses? (9) And the anger of יהוה got to be hot against them. (10) And the cloud turned away from the tent. And, behold Miriam was leprous as snow! And Aaron turned toward Miriam, and, behold, she was leprous! (11) And Aaron said to Moses, Oh my lord, I beg you, do not lay sin upon us, by which we have done foolishly, and by which we have sinned. (12) I pray, do not let her be as one who is dead, of whom the flesh is half consumed when he comes out of his mother's womb. (13) So Moses cried out to , saying, O God, I pray, please heal her. (14) And יהוה said to Moses, If her father were to spit directly in her face, should she not be ashamed seven days? She shall be shut out seven days at the outside of the camp, and afterward she shall be brought in. (15) And Miriam was shut out at the outside of the camp seven days, and the people did not pull up stakes until Miriam was brought in. (16) And afterward the people pulled up stakes from Hazeroth, and they encamped in the wilderness of Paran.
Numbers 12:1-16 GW . . .Miriam and Aaron began to criticize Moses because he was married to a woman from Sudan. (2) They asked, "Did the "Did the LORD () speak only through Moses? Didn't he also speak through us?" The "Did the LORD () heard their complaint. (3) (Moses was a very humble man, more humble than anyone else on earth.) (4) Suddenly, the "Did the LORD () said to Moses, Aaron, and Miriam, "All three of you come to the tent of meeting." So all three of them came. (5) Then the "Did the LORD () came down in the column of smoke and stood at the entrance to the tent. He called to Aaron and Miriam, and they both came forward. (6) He said, "Listen to my words: When there are prophets of the "Did the LORD () among you, I make myself known to them in visions or speak to them in dreams. (7) But this is not the way I treat my servant Moses. He is the most faithful person in my household. (8) I speak with him face to face, plainly and not in riddles. He even sees the form of the "Did the LORD (). Why weren't you afraid to criticize my servant Moses?" (9) The "Did the LORD () was angry with them, so he left. (10) When the smoke left the tent, Miriam was covered with an infectious skin disease. She was as white as snow. Aaron turned to her and saw she was covered with the disease. (11) So he said to Moses, "Please, sir, don't punish us for this foolish sin we committed. (12) Don't let her be like a stillborn baby that's not completely developed." (13) So Moses cried to the "Did the LORD (), "Please, God, heal her!" (14) The "Did the LORD () replied to Moses, "If her own father had spit in her face, wouldn't she be excluded from the community for seven days? She must be put in isolation outside the camp for seven days. Then she can be brought back." (15) So Miriam was put in isolation outside the camp for seven days. The people didn't break camp until she was brought back. (16) After that, the people moved from Hazeroth and set up camp in the Desert of Paran.
Numbers 12:1-16 GNB . . .Moses had married a Cushite woman, and Miriam and Aaron criticized him for it. (2) They said, "Has the "Did the LORD () spoken only through Moses? Hasn't he also spoken through us?" The "Did the LORD () heard what they said. (3) (Moses was a humble man, more humble than anyone else on earth.) (4) Suddenly the "Did the LORD () said to Moses, Aaron, and Miriam, "I want the three of you to come out to the Tent of my presence." They went, (5) and the "Did the LORD () came down in a pillar of cloud, stood at the entrance of the Tent, and called out, "Aaron! Miriam!" The two of them stepped forward, (6) and the "Did the LORD () said, "Now hear what I have to say! When there are prophets among you, I reveal myself to them in visions and speak to them in dreams. (7) It is different when I speak with my servant Moses; I have put him in charge of all my people Israel. (8) So I speak to him face-to-face, clearly and not in riddles; he has even seen my form! How dare you speak against my servant Moses?" (9) The "Did the LORD () was angry with them; and so as he departed (10) and the cloud left the Tent, Miriam's skin was suddenly covered with a dreaded disease and turned as white as snow. When Aaron looked at her and saw that she was covered with the disease, (11) he said to Moses, "Please, sir, do not make us suffer this punishment for our foolish sin. (12) Don't let her become like something born dead with half its flesh eaten away." (13) So Moses cried out to the "Did the LORD (), "O God, heal her!" (14) The "Did the LORD () answered, "If her father had spit in her face, she would have to bear her disgrace for seven days. So let her be shut out of the camp for a week, and after that she can be brought back in." (15) Miriam was shut out of the camp for seven days, and the people did not move on until she was brought back in. (16) Then they left Hazeroth and set up camp in the wilderness of Paran.
Numbers 12:1-16 NWT . . .12 Now Mir´i·am and Aaron began to speak against Moses on account of the Cush´ite wife whom he had taken, because it was a Cush´ite wife he had taken. 2 And they kept saying: “Is it just by Moses alone that Jehovah () has spoken? Is it not by us also that he has spoken?” And Jehovah () was listening. 3 And the man Moses was by far the meekest of all the men who were upon the surface of the ground. 4 Then Jehovah () suddenly said to Moses and Aaron and Mir´i·am: “Go out, the three of YOU, to the tent of meeting.” So the three of them went out. 5 After that Jehovah () came down in the pillar of cloud and stood at the entrance of the tent and called Aaron and Mir´i·am. At this both of them went out. 6 And he went on to say: “Hear my words, please. If there came to be a prophet of YOURS for Jehovah (), it would be in a vision I would make myself known to him. In a dream I would speak to him. 7 Not so my servant Moses! He is being entrusted with all my house. 8 Mouth to mouth I speak to him, thus showing him, and not by riddles; and the appearance of Jehovah () is what he beholds. Why, then, did YOU not fear to speak against my servant, against Moses?” 9 And Jehovah's () anger got to be hot against them, and he went his way. 10 And the cloud turned away from over the tent, and, look! Mir´i·am was struck with leprosy as white as snow. Then Aaron turned toward Mir´i·am, and, look! she was struck with leprosy. 11 Immediately Aaron said to Moses: “Excuse me, my lord! Do not, please, attribute to us the sin in which we have acted foolishly and which we have committed! 12 Please, do not let her continue like someone dead, whose flesh at the time of his coming out of his mother’s womb is half eaten off!” 13 And Moses began to cry out to Jehovah (), saying: “O God, please! Heal her, please!” 14 Then Jehovah () said to Moses: “Were her father to spit directly in her face, would she not be humiliated seven days? Let her be quarantined seven days outside the camp, and afterward let her be received in.” 15 Accordingly Mir´i·am was quarantined outside the camp seven days, and the people did not pull away until Mir´i·am was received in. 16 And afterward the people pulled away from Ha·ze´roth and took up camping in the wilderness of Pa´ran.
