1 Thessalonians 4:15-18 GW . . . (15) We are telling you what the Lord taught. We who are still alive when the Lord comes will not go into his kingdom ahead of those who have already died. (16) The Lord will come from heaven with a command, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. First, the dead who believed in Christ will come back to life. (17) Then, together with them, we who are still alive will be taken in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. In this way we will always be with the Lord. (18) So then, comfort each other with these words!
This is the primary scripture used by those who believe righteous mankind will go to heaven for eternity. God's will is my hope! Still, I believe there other scriptures that temper or refine this one. Clearly, we need protection during the end of the tribulation and Armageddon; while this old world system is destroyed. I think that protection might be what this scripture is referring to. If it did mean we are all going to heaven forever, how could Psa 37:29 and Isa 11:1-12 and Job 33:13-30 and Ecc 1:4 and Psa 104:5 and Psa 37:10-11 also have fulfillment. "All" scripture is inspired by God. (2 Tim 3:16-17) Jesus seemed to say he was going to be on earth, when he said he would drink the product of the vine there. (Mat 26:29) Just remember: What is truth must include all of these scriptures, along with all others!

1 Thessalonians 4:15-18 BBE . . . (15) For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are still living at the coming of the Lord, will not go before those who are sleeping. (16) Because the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a word of authority, with the voice of the chief angel, with the sound of a horn: and the dead in Christ will come to life first; (17) Then we who are still living will be taken up together with them into the clouds to see the Lord in the air: and so will we be for ever with the Lord. (18) So then, give comfort to one another with these words.

1 Thessalonians 4:15-18 GNB . . . (15) What we are teaching you now is the Lord's teaching: we who are alive on the day the Lord comes will not go ahead of those who have died. (16) There will be the shout of command, the archangel's voice, the sound of God's trumpet, and the Lord himself will come down from heaven. Those who have died believing in Christ will rise to life first; (17) then we who are living at that time will be gathered up along with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will always be with the Lord. (18) So then, encourage one another with these words.

1 Thessalonians 4:15-18 NWT . . . 15 For this is what we tell YOU by Jehovah’s word, that we the living who survive to the presence of the Lord shall in no way precede those who have fallen asleep [in death]; 16 because the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a commanding call, with an archangel’s voice and with God’s trumpet, and those who are dead in union with Christ will rise first. 17 Afterward we the living who are surviving will, together with them, be caught away in clouds to meet the Lord in the air; and thus we shall always be with [the] Lord. 18 Consequently keep comforting one another with these words.

You will note the reference windows often include more than one translation of the Bible. The reason is to strive to gain the best possible understanding of the original Hebrew and Greek. Since we don't speak those languages, we rely on those who have come before and made the effort to translate those texts into English for us. Considering several translations gives the benefit of the understanding of several translation committees or individuals.
