Ephesians 2:11-22 GNB You Gentiles by birth---called "the uncircumcised" by the Jews, who call themselves the circumcised (which refers to what men do to their bodies)---remember what you were in the past. (12) At that time you were apart from Christ. You were foreigners and did not belong to God's chosen people. You had no part in the covenants, which were based on God's promises to his people, and you lived in this world without hope and without God. (13) But now, in union with Christ Jesus you, who used to be far away, have been brought near by the blood of Christ. (14) For Christ himself has brought us peace by making Jews and Gentiles one people. With his own body he broke down the wall that separated them and kept them enemies. (15) He abolished the Jewish Law with its commandments and rules, in order to create out of the two races one new people in union with himself, in this way making peace. (16) By his death on the cross (or stake - for God's your own sake, don't get derailed worrying about silly semantics like whether Christ died on a "cross" or a "stake") Christ destroyed their enmity; by means of the cross he united both races into one body and brought them back to God. (17) So Christ came and preached the Good News of peace to all---to you Gentiles, who were far away from God, and to the Jews, who were near to him. [Isa. 57:19] (18) It is through Christ that all of us, Jews and Gentiles, are able to come in the one Spirit into the presence of the Father. (19) So then, you Gentiles are not foreigners or strangers any longer; you are now citizens together with God's people and members of the family of God. [Gal 3:26-29] (20) You, too, are built upon the foundation laid by the apostles and prophets, the cornerstone being Christ Jesus himself. (21) He is the one who holds the whole building together and makes it grow into a sacred temple dedicated to the Lord. (22) In union with him you too are being built together with all the others into a place where God lives through his Spirit.

Ephesians 2:11-22 BBE (11) For this reason keep it in mind that in the past you, the Gentiles in the flesh, who are looked on as being outside the circumcision by those who have circumcision, in the flesh, made by hands; (12) That you were at that time without Christ, being cut off from any part in Israel's rights as a nation, having no part in God's agreement, having no hope, and without God in the world. (13) But now in Christ Jesus you who at one time were far off are made near in the blood of Christ. (14) For he is our peace, who has made the two into one, and by whom the middle wall of division has been broken down, (15) Having in his flesh put an end to that which made the division between us, even the law with its rules and orders, so that he might make in himself, of the two, one new man, so making peace; (16) And that the two might come into agreement with God in one body through the cross, so putting an end to that division. (17) And he came preaching peace to you who were far off, and to those who were near; [Isa. 57:19] (18) Because through him the two of us are able to come near in one Spirit to the Father. (19) So then you are no longer as those who have no part or place in the kingdom of God, but you are numbered among the saints, and of the family of God, [Gal 3:26-29] (20) Resting on the base of the Apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the chief keystone, (21) In whom all the building, rightly joined together, comes to be a holy house of God in the Lord; (22) In whom you, with the rest, are united together as a living-place [dwelling-place] of God in the Spirit.

Ephesians 2:11-22 NWT 11 Therefore keep bearing in mind that formerly you were people of the nations as to flesh; "uncircumcision" you were called by that which is called "circumcision" made in the flesh with hands- 12 that you were at that particular time without Christ, alienated from the state of Israel and strangers to the covenants of the promise, and you had no hope and were without God in the world. 13 But now in union with Christ Jesus you who were once far off have come to be near by the blood of the Christ. 14 For he is our peace, he who made the two parties one and destroyed the wall in between that fenced them off. 15 By means of his flesh he abolished the enmity, the Law of commandments consisting in decrees, that he might create the two peoples in union with himself into one new man and make peace; 16 and that he might fully reconcile both peoples in one body to God through the torture stake, because he had killed off the enmity by means of himself. 17 And he came and declared the good news of peace to you, the ones far off, and peace to those near, [Isa. 57:19] 18 because through him we, both peoples, have the approach to the Father by one spirit. 19 Certainly, therefore, you are no longer strangers and alien residents, but you are fellow citizens of the holy ones and are members of the household of God, [Gal 3:26-29] 20 and you have been built up upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, while Christ Jesus himself is the foundation cornerstone. 21 In union with him the whole building, being harmoniously joined together, is growing into a holy temple for Jehovah. 22 In union with him YOU, too, are being built up together into a place for God to inhabit by spirit.

(17) And coming, He proclaimed "peace to you, the ones afar off, and to the ones near." [Isa. 57:19] (18) For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father. (19) So, then, you are no longer strangers and tenants, but you are fellow citizens of the saints and of the family of God, [Gal 3:26-29] (20) being built up on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the cornerstone, (21) in whom all the building being fitted together grows into a holy temple in the Lord, (22) in whom you also are being built together into a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.

Ephesians 2:11-22 ALT (11) For this reason, be remembering that you* at one time [were] the Gentiles in [the] flesh, the ones called Uncircumcision by the ones called Circumcision, performed by human hands in the flesh- (12) that you* were at that time apart from [or, without] Christ, having been separated from [or, a foreigner to] the citizenship [fig., community] of Israel and strangers to [fig., excluded from] the covenants of the promise, having no hope [or, confident expectation] and without God in the world. (13) But now, in Christ Jesus, _you*_, the ones at one time being far away, became near by the blood of Christ. (14) For He is our peace, the One having made them both one and having broken down the dividing wall of the fence [fig., the separation], (15) having done away with [or, having annulled] the hostility in His flesh, the law of the commandments in ordinances, so that from the two He should create in Himself into one new person [or, humanity], making peace, (16) and reconcile them both in one body to God by means of the cross, having put to death the hostility by it [or, in Himself]. (17) And having come, He Himself proclaimed the Gospel [of] peace to you*, to the [ones] far away and to the [ones] near. [Isa. 57:19] (18) Because by means of Him we both have the access [or, privilege to enter] by one Spirit to the Father. (19) So, consequently, you* are no longer strangers and foreigners, _but_ fellow-citizens with the holy ones and [members] of the household of God, [Gal 3:26-29] (20) having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being [the] cornerstone, (21) in whom [the] entire building having been joined together is growing into a holy temple in [the] Lord, (22) in whom also you are being built together into a habitation for God in the Spirit.
