Isaiah 44:6-25 GNB The LORD [], who rules and protects Israel, (all Christians are adopted children of Israel - Gal 3:5-9; Gal 3:26-29) the LORD [] Almighty, has this to say: "I am the first, the last, the only God; there is no other god but me. (7) Could anyone else have done what I did? Who could have predicted all that would happen from the very beginning to the end of time? (8) Do not be afraid, my people! You know that from ancient times until now I have predicted all that would happen, and you are my witnesses. Is there any other god? Is there some powerful god I never heard of ?" (9) All those who make idols are worthless, and the gods they prize so highly are useless. Those who worship these gods are blind and ignorant---and they will be disgraced. (10) It does no good to make a metal image to worship as a god! (11) Everyone who worships it will be humiliated. The people who make idols are human beings and nothing more. Let them come and stand trial---they will be terrified and will suffer disgrace. (12) The metalworker takes a piece of metal and works with it over a fire. His strong arm swings a hammer to pound the metal into shape. As he works, he gets hungry, thirsty, and tired. (13) The carpenter measures the wood. He outlines a figure with chalk, carves it out with his tools, and makes it in the form of a man, a handsome human figure, to be placed in his house. (14) He might cut down cedars to use, or choose oak or cypress wood from the forest. Or he might plant a laurel tree and wait for the rain to make it grow. (15) A person uses part of a tree for fuel and part of it for making an idol. With one part he builds a fire to warm himself and bake bread; with the other part he makes a god and worships it. (16) With some of the wood he makes a fire; he roasts meat, eats it, and is satisfied. He warms himself and says, "How nice and warm! What a beautiful fire!" (17) The rest of the wood he makes into an idol, and then he bows down and worships it. He prays to it and says, "You are my god---save me!" (18) Such people are too stupid to know what they are doing. They close their eyes and their minds to the truth. (19) The maker of idols hasn't the wit or the sense to say, "Some of the wood I burned up. I baked some bread on the coals, and I roasted meat and ate it. And the rest of the wood I made into an idol. Here I am bowing down to a block of wood!" (20) It makes as much sense as eating ashes. His foolish ideas have so misled him that he is beyond help. He won't admit to himself that the idol he holds in his hand is not a god at all. (21) The LORD [] says, "Israel, (Gal 3:5-9; Gal 3:26-29) remember this; remember that you are my servant. I created you to be my servant, and I will never forget you. (22) I have swept your sins away like a cloud. Come back to me; I am the one who saves you." (23) Shout for joy, you heavens! Shout, deep places of the earth! Shout for joy, mountains, and every tree of the forest! The LORD [] has shown his greatness by saving his people Israel. (Gal 3:5-9; Gal 3:26-29) (24) "I am the LORD [], your savior; I am the one who created you. I am the LORD [], the Creator of all things. I alone stretched out the heavens; when I made the earth, no one helped me. (25) I make fools of fortunetellers and frustrate the predictions of astrologers. The words of the wise I refute and show that their wisdom is foolishness.

Isaiah 44:6-25 MKJV So says Jehovah [], the King of Israel, (Gal 3:5-9; Gal 3:26-29) and His redeemer Jehovah [] of Hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and besides Me there is no God. (7) And who, as I, shall call, and shall declare it and set it in order for Me, since I placed the people of old? And the things that are coming, and shall come, let them declare to them. (8) Fear not, nor be afraid; have I not told you and made you hear since then? So you are My witnesses. Is there a God besides Me? Yea, there is none. I have not known a Rock. (9) Those who make a graven image are all of them vanity; and the things in which they delight shall not help; and they are their own witnesses. They do not see nor know, that they may be ashamed. (10) Who has formed a god, or melted a graven image that is good for nothing? (11) Behold, all his companions shall be ashamed; and the craftsmen; they are from men. They shall assemble; all of them shall stand; they shall dread; they shall be ashamed together. (12) He engraves iron with a tool. He works in the coals, and forms it with hammers, and works it with the strength of his arms. Then, he is hungry, and his strength fails; he drinks no water, and is weak. (13) He fashions wood, and stretches a line; he marks it out with a pencil; he shapes it with carving tools, and he marks it out with the compass, and makes it after the figure of a man, according to the beauty of a man, to sit in the house. (14) He cuts down cedars, and takes cypress and oak, which he makes the trees of the forest strong for him; he plants a tree, and the rain makes it grow. (15) And it shall be for a man to burn; for he will take some of it and warm himself. Yes, he kindles it and bakes bread; yes, he makes a god and worships; he makes it a graven image and falls down to it. (16) He burns part of it in the fire; with part of it he eats flesh; he roasts roast and is satisfied; yea, he warms himself, and says, Aha, I am warm, I have seen the fire. (17) And the rest of it he makes into a god, his graven image; he falls down to it and worships, and prays to it, and says, Deliver me! for you are my god. (18) They have not known nor understood; for He has shut their eyes so that they cannot see; and their hearts so that they cannot understand. (19) And none thinks within his heart, nor is there knowledge nor understanding to say, I have burned part of it in the fire; yea, also I have baked bread on the coals of it; I have roasted flesh and eaten; and shall I make the rest of it an abomination? Shall I fall down to the stock of a tree? (20) He feeds on ashes; a deceived heart has turned him aside, so that he cannot deliver his soul, nor say, Is there not a lie in my right hand? (21) Remember these, O Jacob and Israel; (Gal 3:5-9; Gal 3:26-29) for you are My servant; I have formed you; you are My servant; O Israel, (Gal 3:5-9; Gal 3:26-29) you shall not be forgotten by Me. (22) I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, your transgressions, and, as a cloud, your sins; return to Me; for I have redeemed you. (23) Sing, O heavens; for Jehovah [] has done it. Shout, lower parts of the earth. Break out into singing, O mountains, O forest, and every tree in it. For Jehovah [] has redeemed Jacob, and glorified Himself in Israel. (Gal 3:5-9; Gal 3:26-29) (24) So says Jehovah [], your Redeemer, and He who formed you from the womb, I am Jehovah [] who makes all things; who stretches out the heavens alone; who spreads out the earth; who was with Me? (25) who brings to nothing the signs of the liars, and makes diviners mad; who turns the wise backward, and makes their knowledge foolish;

Isaiah 44:6-25 GW The LORD [] is Israel's (all Christians are adopted children of Israel - Gal 3:5-9; Gal 3:26-29) king and defender. He is the LORD of Armies. This is what the LORD [] says: I am the first and the last, and there is no God except me. (7) If there is anyone like me, let him say so. Let him tell me what happened when I established my people long ago. Then let him predict what will happen to them. (8) Don't be terrified or afraid. Didn't I make this known to you long ago? You are my witnesses. Is there any God except me? There is no other rock; I know of none. (9) All who make idols are nothing. Their precious treasures are worthless. Their own witnesses do not see or know anything, so they will be put to shame. (10) Nothing comes from making gods or casting metal idols. (11) Everyone associated with the gods will be put to shame. The craftsmen themselves are only human. Let them all get together and take their stand. They will be frightened and ashamed together. (12) Blacksmiths shape iron into tools. They work them over the coals and shape them with hammers, working them with their strong arms. They get hungry, and their strength fails. If they don't drink water, they will faint. (13) Carpenters measure blocks of wood with chalk lines. They mark them with pens. They carve them with chisels and mark them with compasses. They carve them into forms of people, beautiful people, so the idols can live in shrines. (14) They cut down cedars for themselves. Then they choose fir trees or oaks. They let them grow strong among the trees in the forest. Then they plant cedars, and the rain makes them grow. (15) These trees become fuel for people to burn. So they take some of them and warm themselves with them. They start fires and bake bread. They also make gods from these trees and worship them. They make them into carved statues and bow in front of them. (16) Half of the wood they burn in the fire. Over this half they roast meat that they can eat until they are full. They also warm themselves and say, "Ah! We are warm. We can see the fire!" (17) But the rest of the wood they make into gods, carved statues. They bow to them and worship them. They pray to them, saying, "Rescue us, because you are our gods." (18) They don't know or understand anything. Their eyes are plastered shut, so they can't see. And their minds are closed, so they can't understand. (19) No one stops to think. No one has enough knowledge or understanding to say, "I burned half of the wood in the fire. I also baked bread over its coals. I roasted meat and ate it. Now I am making the rest of the wood into a disgusting thing and bowing to a block of wood." (20) They eat ashes because they are deceived. Their own misguided minds lead them astray. They can't rescue themselves or ask themselves, "Isn't what I hold in my right hand a false god?" (21) Remember these things, Jacob: You are my servant, Israel. (Gal 3:5-9; Gal 3:26-29) I formed you; you are my servant. Israel, (Gal 3:5-9; Gal 3:26-29) I will not forget you. (22) I made your rebellious acts disappear like a thick cloud and your sins like the morning mist. Come back to me, because I have reclaimed you. (23) Sing with joy, you heavens, because the LORD [] has done this. Rejoice, you deep places of the earth. Break into shouts of joy, you mountains, you forests and every tree in them. The LORD [] has reclaimed Jacob. He will display his glory in Israel. (Gal 3:5-9; Gal 3:26-29) (24) The LORD [] reclaimed you. He formed you in the womb. This is what the LORD [] says: I, the LORD [], made everything. I stretched out the heavens by myself. I spread out the earth all alone. (25) I cause the signs of false prophets to fail and make fools of fortunetellers. I make wise men retreat and turn their knowledge into foolishness.

You will note the reference windows often include more than one translation of the Bible. The reason is to strive to gain the best possible understanding of the original Hebrew and Greek. Since we don't speak those languages, we rely on those who have come before and made the effort to translate those texts into English for us. Considering several translations gives the benefit of the understanding of several translation committees or individuals.
