John 1:9-14 GNB This was the real light---the light that comes into the world and shines on all people. (10) The Word was in the world, and though God made the world through him, yet the world did not recognize him. (11) He came to his own country, but his own people did not receive him. (12) Some, however, did receive him and believed in him; so he gave them the right to become God's children. (13) They did not become God's children by natural means, that is, by being born as the children of a human father; God himself was their Father. [John 3:1-8] [Christians are each and every one made God's children because on one can come to Christ unless God draws them. (John 6:44a) God draws them to his son because He has seen something good in them. (2 Chron 16:9a) Being drawn to Christ by God can give a new birth by God's spirit.] (14) The Word became a human being and, full of grace and truth, lived among us. We saw his glory, the glory which he received as the Father's only Son.
John 1:9-14 GW The real light, which shines on everyone, was coming into the world. (10) He was in the world, and the world came into existence through him. Yet, the world didn't recognize him. (11) He went to his own people, and his own people didn't accept him. (12) However, he gave the right to become God's children to everyone who believed in him. (13) These people didn't become God's children in a physical way-from a human impulse or from a husband's desire to have a child. They were born from God. [John 3:1-8] [Christians are each and every one made God's children because on one can come to Christ unless God draws them. (John 6:44a) God draws them to his son because He has seen something good in them. (2 Chron 16:9a) Being drawn to Christ by God can give a new birth by God's spirit.] (14) The Word became human and lived among us. We saw his glory. It was the glory that the Father shares with his only Son, a glory full of kindness and truth.
John 1:9-14 CEV The true light that shines on everyone was coming into the world. (10) The Word was in the world, but no one knew him, though God had made the world with his Word. (11) He came into his own world, but his own nation did not welcome him. (12) Yet some people accepted him and put their faith in him. So he gave them the right to be the children of God. (13) They were not God's children by nature or because of any human desires. God himself was the one who made them his children. [John 3:1-8] [Christians are each and every one made God's children because on one can come to Christ unless God draws them. (John 6:44a) God draws them to his son because He has seen something good in them. (2 Chron 16:9a) Being drawn to Christ by God can give a new birth by God's spirit.] (14) The Word became a human being and lived here with us. We saw his true glory, the glory of the only Son of the Father. From him all the kindness and all the truth of God have come down to us.
John 1:9-14 ESV The true light, which enlightens everyone, was coming into the world. (10) He was in the world, and the world was made through him, yet the world did not know him. (11) He came to his own, and his own people did not receive him. (12) But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, (13) who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God. [John 3:1-8] [Christians are each and every one made God's children because on one can come to Christ unless God draws them. (John 6:44a) God draws them to his son because He has seen something good in them. (2 Chron 16:9a) Being drawn to Christ by God can give a new birth by God's spirit.] (14) And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.

You will note the reference windows often include more than one translation of the Bible. The reason is to strive to gain the best possible understanding of the original Hebrew and Greek. Since we don't speak those languages, we rely on those who have come before and made the effort to translate those texts into English for us. Considering several translations gives the benefit of the understanding of several translation committees or individuals.
