Luke 12:49-53 CEV ...I came to set fire to the earth, and I wish it were already on fire! (50) I am going to be put to a hard test. And I will have to suffer a lot of pain until it is over. (51) Do you think that I came to bring peace to earth? No indeed! I came to make people choose sides. (52) A family of five will be divided, with two of them against the other three. (53) Fathers and sons will turn against one another, and mothers and daughters will do the same. Mothers-in-law and daughters-in-law will also turn against each other.

Jesus came to separate the righteous from the unrighteous. He is now seated on his throne in heaven doing just that. (Mat 25:31-34) How we respond to his teachings is the judgment of us. (John 3:19 of 16-21)

Luke 12:49-53 BBE ...I came to send a fire on the earth, and it may even now have been lighted. (50) But there is a baptism which I have to undergo; and how am I kept back till it is complete! (51) Is it your opinion that I have come to give peace on earth? I say to you, No, but division: (52) For from this time, a family of five in one house will be on opposite sides, three against two and two against three. (53) They will be at war, the father against his son, and the son against his father; mother against daughter, and daughter against mother; mother-in-law against daughter-in-law, and daughter-in-law against mother-in-law.

Luke 12:49-53 ESV ..."I came to cast fire on the earth, and would that it were already kindled! (50) I have a baptism to be baptized with, and how great is my distress until it is accomplished! (51) Do you think that I have come to give peace on earth? No, I tell you, but rather division. (52) For from now on in one house there will be five divided, three against two and two against three. (53) They will be divided, father against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against mother-in-law."

Luke 12:49-53 GNB ..."I came to set the earth on fire, and how I wish it were already kindled! (50) I have a baptism to receive, and how distressed I am until it is over! (51) Do you suppose that I came to bring peace to the world? No, not peace, but division. (52) From now on a family of five will be divided, three against two and two against three. (53) Fathers will be against their sons, and sons against their fathers; mothers will be against their daughters, and daughters against their mothers; mothers-in-law will be against their daughters-in-law, and daughters-in-law against their mothers-in-law."

You will note the reference windows often include more than one translation of the Bible. The reason is to strive to gain the best possible understanding of the original Hebrew and Greek. Since we don't speak those languages, we rely on those who have come before and made the effort to translate those texts into English for us. Considering several translations gives the benefit of the understanding of several translation committees or individuals.
