Mark 13:14-23 GW "When you see the disgusting thing that will cause destruction standing where it should not (let the reader take note), those of you in Judea should flee to the mountains. (Dan 11:31; Dan 12:11) (15) Those who are on the roof should not come down to get anything out of their houses. (16) Those who are in the field should not turn back to get their coats. (17) "How horrible it will be for the women who are pregnant or who are nursing babies in those days. (18) Pray that it will not be in winter. (19) It will be a time of misery that has not happened from the beginning of God's creation until now, and will certainly never happen again. (20) If the Lord does not reduce that time, no one will be saved. But those days will be reduced because of those whom God has chosen. (21) "At that time don't believe anyone who tells you, 'Here is the Messiah!' or 'There he is!' (22) False messiahs and false prophets will appear. They will work miraculous signs and do wonderful things to deceive, if possible, those whom God has chosen. (23) Be on your guard! I have told you everything before it happens.

The disgusting thing that causes desolation is false religion. All those disgustingly claiming to represent Christ and/or his Father, when they really don't know them at all. The disgusting thing is causing desolation by failing to really direct people to read the words of Christ, even while using his name to misdirect them to believe in their own religious sect and its teachings.

Mark 13:14-23 LITV But when you see "the abomination of desolation," the one spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not (he reading, let him understand), then let those in Judea flee into the mountains. (Dan 11:31; Dan 12:11) (15) And he on the housetop, let him not go down into the house, nor go in to take a thing out of his house. (16) And the one in the field, let him not return to the things behind to take his garment. (17) But woe to those holding a babe in womb, and to those giving suck in those days! (18) And pray that your flight will not be in winter; (19) for there will be affliction in those days, such as has not been the like from the beginning of creation which God created until now, and never will be. (20) And if the Lord had not shortened the days, not any flesh would be saved; but because of the elect whom He chose, He has shortened the days. (21) And then if anyone says to you, Behold, here is the Christ! Or, Behold, there! You shall not believe. (22) For false christs and false prophets will be raised, and they will give miraculous signs and wonders in order to lead astray, if possible, even the elect. (23) But you be careful. Behold, I have foretold you all things.

Mark 13:14-23 GNB "You will see 'The Awful Horror' standing in the place where he should not be." (Note to the reader: understand what this means!) "Then those who are in Judea must run away to the hills. (15) Someone who is on the roof of a house must not lose time by going down into the house to get anything to take along. (Dan 11:31; Dan 12:11) (16) Someone who is in the field must not go back to the house for a cloak. (17) How terrible it will be in those days for women who are pregnant and for mothers with little babies! (18) Pray to God that these things will not happen in the winter! (19) For the trouble of those days will be far worse than any the world has ever known from the very beginning when God created the world until the present time. Nor will there ever be anything like it again. (20) But the Lord has reduced the number of those days; if he had not, nobody would survive. For the sake of his chosen people, however, he has reduced those days. (21) "Then, if anyone says to you, 'Look, here is the Messiah!' or, 'Look, there he is!'---do not believe it. (22) For false Messiahs and false prophets will appear. They will perform miracles and wonders in order to deceive even God's chosen people, if possible. (23) Be on your guard! I have told you everything ahead of time.

Mark 13:14-23 NWT 14 “However, when YOU catch sight of the disgusting thing that causes desolation standing where it ought not (let the reader use discernment), then let those in Ju·de´a begin fleeing to the mountains. (Dan 11:31; Dan 12:11) 15 Let the man on the housetop not come down, nor go inside to take anything out of his house; 16 and let the man in the field not return to the things behind to pick up his outer garment. 17 Woe to the pregnant women and those suckling a baby in those days! 18 Keep praying that it may not occur in wintertime; 19 for those days will be [days of] a tribulation such as has not occurred from [the] beginning of the creation which God created until that time, and will not occur again. 20 In fact, unless Jehovah had cut short the days, no flesh would be saved. But on account of the chosen ones whom he has chosen he has cut short the days. 21 “Then, too, if anyone says to YOU, ‘See! Here is the Christ,’ ‘See! There he is,’ do not believe [it]. 22 For false Christs and false prophets will arise and will give signs and wonders to lead astray, if possible, the chosen ones. 23 YOU, then, watch out; I have told YOU all things beforehand.

You will note the reference windows often include more than one translation of the Bible. The reason is to strive to gain the best possible understanding of the original Hebrew and Greek. Since we don't speak those languages, we rely on those who have come before and made the effort to translate those texts into English for us. Considering several translations gives the benefit of the understanding of several translation committees or individuals.
