Matthew 24:14-22 CEV . . .When the good news about the kingdom has been preached all over the world and told to all nations, the end will come. (15) Someday you will see that "Horrible Thing" [False Religion and Wicked Kings] in the holy place, just as the prophet Daniel said. (Dan 9:27; Dan 8:9-13; Dan 8:23-26) Everyone who reads this must try to understand! (16) If you are living in Judea [Asserted Christians - Gal 3:19-19)] at that time, run to the mountains. (17) If you are on the roof of your house, don't go inside to get anything. (18) If you are out in the field, don't go back for your coat. (19) It will be a terrible time for women who are expecting babies or nursing young children. (20) And pray that you won't have to escape in winter or on a Sabbath. (21) This will be the worst time of suffering since the beginning of the world, and nothing this terrible will ever happen again. (22) If God doesn't make the time shorter, no one will be left alive. But because of God's chosen ones, he will make the time shorter.
Matthew 24:14-22 GW . . ."This Good News about the kingdom will be spread throughout the world as a testimony to all nations. Then the end will come. (15) "The prophet Daniel said (Dan 9:27; Dan 8:9-13; Dan 8:23-26) that the disgusting thing that will cause destruction [False Religion and Wicked Kings] will stand in the holy place. When you see this (let the reader take note), (16) those of you in Judea [Asserted Christians - Gal 3:19-19)] should flee to the mountains. (17) Those who are on the roof should not come down to get anything out of their houses. (18) Those who are in the field should not turn back to get their coats. (19) "How horrible it will be for the women who are pregnant or who are nursing babies in those days. (20) Pray that it will not be winter or a day of worship when you flee. (21) There will be a lot of misery at that time, a kind of misery that has not happened from the beginning of the world until now and will certainly never happen again. (22) If God does not reduce the number of those days, no one will be saved. But those days will be reduced because of those whom God has chosen .
Matthew 24:14-22 GNB . . .And this Good News about the Kingdom will be preached through all the world for a witness to all people; and then the end will come. (15) "You will see 'The Awful Horror' [False Religion and Wicked Kings] of which the prophet Daniel spoke. (Dan 9:27; Dan 8:9-13; Dan 8:23-26) It will be standing in the holy place." (Note to the reader: understand what this means!) (16) "Then those who are in Judea [Asserted Christians - Gal 3:19-19)] must run away to the hills. (17) Someone who is on the roof of a house must not take the time to go down and get any belongings from the house. (18) Someone who is in the field must not go back to get a cloak. (19) How terrible it will be in those days for women who are pregnant and for mothers with little babies! (20) Pray to God that you will not have to run away during the winter or on a Sabbath! (21) For the trouble at that time will be far more terrible than any there has ever been, from the beginning of the world to this very day. Nor will there ever be anything like it again. (22) But God has already reduced the number of days; had he not done so, nobody would survive. For the sake of his chosen people, however, God will reduce the days.
Matthew 24:14-22 BBE . . .And this good news of the kingdom will be given through all the world for a witness to all nations; and then the end will come. (15) When, then, you see in the holy place the unclean thing [False Religion and Wicked Kings] which makes destruction, of which word was given by Daniel the prophet (Dan 9:27; Dan 8:9-13; Dan 8:23-26) let this be clear to the reader, (16) Then let those who are in Judaea [Asserted Christians - Gal 3:19-19)] go in flight to the mountains: (17) Let not him who is on the house-top go down to take anything out of his house: (18) And let not him who is in the field go back to get his coat. (19) But it will be hard for women who are with child and for those with babies at the breast in those days. (20) And say a prayer that your flight may not be in the winter, or on a Sabbath. (21) Because in those days there will be great sorrow, such as there has not been from the start of the world till now, or ever will be. (22) And if those days had not been made short there would have been no salvation for any, but because of the saints those days will be made short.

You will note the reference windows often include more than one translation of the Bible. The reason is to strive to gain the best possible understanding of the original Hebrew and Greek. Since we don't speak those languages, we rely on those who have come before and made the effort to translate those texts into English for us. Considering several translations gives the benefit of the understanding of several translation committees or individuals.
