Matthew 24:3-31 MWT As Jesus sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him in private. "Tell us when all this will be," they asked, "and what will happen to show that it is the time for your coming and the end of the age." (4) Jesus answered, "Watch out, and do not let anyone fool you. (5) Many men, claiming to speak for me, will come and say, 'I am the Messiah!' [or 'I am Christ's representative!'] and they will fool many people. (6) You are going to hear the noise of battles close by and the news of wars far away; but do not be troubled. Such things must happen, but they do not mean that the end has come. (7) Countries will fight each other; kingdoms will attack one another. There will be famines and earthquakes everywhere. (8) All these things are like the first pains of childbirth. (9) "Then you will be arrested and handed over to be punished and some will be put to death. Everyone (Religionists) will hate you because of me. (10) Many will give up their faith at that time; they will betray one another and hate one another. (11) Then many false prophets will appear and fool many people. (12) Such will be the spread of evil that many people's love will grow cold. (13) But whoever endures to the end will be saved. (14) And this Good News about the Kingdom will be preached through all the world for a witness to all people; and then the end will come. (15) "You will see 'The disgusting thing that causes desolation' of which the prophet Daniel spoke. It will be standing in the holy place." ['The Awful Horror' or 'The disgusting thing that causes desolation' is false religion. It stands in a holy place by claiming it is from God, but it causes desolation by failing to direct people to Christ.] (Note to the reader: understand what this means!) [Dan 11:31; Dan 12:11] (16) "Then those who are in Judea must run away to the hills. (17) Someone who is on the roof of a house must not take the time to go down and get any belongings from the house. (18) Someone who is in the field must not go back to get a cloak. [The teachings of Christ must be more important than anything... John 8:31‑32] (19) How terrible it will be in those days for women who are pregnant and for mothers with little babies! (20) Pray to God that you will not have to run away during the winter or on a Sabbath! (21) For the tribulation at that time will be far more terrible than any there has ever been, from the beginning of the world to this very day. Nor will there ever be anything like it again. (22) But God will cut short the number of those days; if not, nobody would survive. For the sake of those being chosen, however, God will reduce the days. (23) "Then, if anyone says to you, 'Look, here is the Messiah!' or 'There he is!'---do not believe it. (24) For false Messiahs and false prophets will appear; they will perform great miracles and wonders in order to deceive even God's chosen people, if possible. (25) Listen! I have told you this ahead of time. (26) "Or, if people should tell you, 'Look, he is out in the desert!'---don't go there; or if they say, 'Look, he is hiding here!'---don't believe it. (27) For the Son of Man will come like the lightning which flashes across the whole sky from the east to the west. [The light of truth from Jesus's teachings is shining throughout all the earth.] (28) "Wherever there is a dead body, the eagles will gather. [Christ's remains (his dead body) exists in his teachings, as recorded in Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.] (29) "Soon after the trouble of those days, the sun will grow dark, the moon will no longer shine, the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers in space will be driven from their courses. (30) Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky; and all the peoples of earth will weep as they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. [Dan. 7:13] (31) The great trumpet will sound, and Christ will send out his angels to the four corners of the earth, and they will gather his chosen people from one end of the world to the other.
Matthew 24:3-31 LITV And as He was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, Tell us, when will these things be? And, What is the sign of Your coming and of the end of the age? (4) And answering, Jesus said to them, See that not any leads you astray. (5) For many will come in My name, saying, I am the Christ [or I represent the Christ]. And they will cause many to be led astray. (6) But you are going to hear of wars and rumors of wars. See, do not be terrified. For all things must take place, but the end is not yet. (7) For nation will be raised against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; and there will be famines and plagues and earthquakes against many places. (8) But all these are a beginning of throes [pangs of distress]. (9) Then they will deliver you up to affliction, and will kill [some of] you, and you will be hated by all nations because of My name. (10) And then many will be offended, and they will deliver up one another and will hate one another. (11) And many false prophets will be raised and will cause many to err [be led astray]. (12) And because lawlessness shall have been multiplied, the love of the many will grow cold. (13) But the one who endures to the end, that one will be kept safe. (14) And this gospel of the Kingdom shall be preached in all the earth for a testimony to all the nations, and then will come the end. (15) Then when you see the abomination of desolation, which was spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place [The disgusting thing that causes desolation is false religion. It stands in a holy place by claiming it is from God, but it only causes desolation by failing to direct people to Christ.] (the one reading, let him understand), [Dan 11:31; Dan 12:11] (16) then let those in Judea flee into the mountains; (17) the one on the housetop, let him not go down to take anything out of his house; (18) and the one in the field, let him not turn back to take his garment. (19) But woe to the ones having a child in womb, and to those suckling in those days! (20) And pray that your flight will not occur in winter nor in a sabbath. (21) For there will be great affliction, such as has not happened from the beginning of the world until now, no, nor ever will be. (22) And except those days were shortened, not any flesh would be saved. But on account of the elect [those being chosen], those days will be shortened. (23) Then if anyone says to you, Behold, here is the Christ! Or, Here! Do not believe. (24) For false christs and false prophets will rise up. And they will give great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect. (25) Behold, I tell you beforehand. (26) Then if they say to you, Behold, He is in the wilderness; do not go out. Behold, He is in the inner rooms; do not believe. (27) For as the lightning comes forth from the east and shines as far as the west, so also will be the coming of the Son of Man. [The light of truth in Jesus's teachings is shining all throughout the earth,] (28) For wherever the dead body may be, there the eagles will be gathered. [Christ's remains (dead body) exists in his teachings, as recorded in Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.] (29) And immediately after the affliction of those days the sun will be darkened and the moon will not give her light, and the stars will fall from the heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. (30) And then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the heavens. And then all the tribes of the land will wail. And they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and much glory. [Dan 7:13] (31) And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather His elect from the four winds, from the ends of the heavens to their ends.
Matthew 24:3-31 BBE And while he was seated on the Mountain of Olives, the disciples came to him privately, saying, Make clear to us, when will these things be? and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the world? (4) And Jesus said to them in answer, Take care that you are not tricked. (5) For people will come in my name, saying, I am the Christ [or I represent him]; and a number will be turned from the true way through them. (6) And news will come to you of wars and talk of wars: do not be troubled, for these things have to be; but it is still not the end. (7) For nation will be moved against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and men will be without food, and the earth will be shaking in different places; (8) But all these things are the first of the troubles. (9) Then they will be cruel to you, and will put [some of] you to death: and you will be hated by all nations because of my name. (10) And numbers of people will be turned from the right way, and will give one another up and have hate for one another. (11) And a number of false prophets will come, causing error. (12) And because wrongdoing will be increased, the love of most people will become cold. (13) But he who goes through to the end will get salvation. (14) And this good news of the kingdom will be given through all the world for a witness to all nations; and then the end will come. (15) When, then, you see in the holy place the unclean thing which makes destruction, [The disgusting thing that causes desolation is false religion. It stands in a holy place by claiming it is from God but actually causes desolation by failing to direct people to Christ.] of which word was given by Daniel the prophet let this be clear to the reader, [Dan 11:31; Dan 12:11] (16) Then let those who are in Judaea go in flight to the mountains: (17) Let not him who is on the house-top go down to take anything out of his house: (18) And let not him who is in the field go back to get his coat. (19) But it will be hard for women who are with child and for those with babies at the breast in those days. (20) And say a prayer that your flight may not be in the winter, or on a Sabbath. (21) Because in those days there will be great sorrow, such as there has not been from the start of the world till now, or ever will be. (22) And if those days had not been made short there would have been no salvation for any, but because of the saints those days will be made short. (23) Then if any man says to you, See, here is the Christ, or, Here; do not put faith in him; (24) For there will come up false Christs, and false prophets, who will do great signs and wonders; so that if possible even the saints might be tricked. (25) See, I have made it clear to you before it comes about. (26) If, then, they say to you, See, he is in the waste land; go not out: See, he is in the inner rooms; put no faith in it. (27) Because as in a thunderstorm the bright light coming from the east is seen even in the west; so will be the coming of the Son of man. [The light of truth in Jesus's teachings is shining all throughout the earth,] (28) Wherever the dead body is, there will the eagles come together. [Christ's remains (dead body) exists in his teachings, as recorded in Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.] (29) But straight away, after the trouble of those days, the sun will be made dark and the moon will not give her light and the stars will come down from heaven and the powers of heaven will be moved: (30) And then the sign of the Son of man will be seen in heaven: and then all the nations of the earth will have sorrow, and they will see the Son of man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. [Dan 7:13] (31) And he will send out his angels with a great sound of a horn, and they will get his saints together from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

You will note the reference windows often include more than one translation of the Bible. The reason is to strive to gain the best possible understanding of the original Hebrew and Greek. Since we don't speak those languages, we rely on those who have come before and made the effort to translate those texts into English for us. Considering several translations gives the benefit of the understanding of several translation committees or individuals.
