Zephaniah 2:10-15 CEV ...This is how Moab and Ammon will at last be repaid for their pride-- and for sneering at the nation that belongs to me, the LORD   ( ) All-Powerful. (11) I will fiercely attack. Then every god on this earth will shrink to nothing, and everyone of every nation will bow down to me, right where they are. (12) People of Ethiopia, the sword of the LORD  ( ) will slaughter you! (13) The LORD  ( ) will reach to the north to crush Assyria and overthrow Nineveh. (14) Herds of wild animals will live in its rubble; all kinds of desert owls will perch on its stones and hoot in the windows. Noisy ravens will be heard inside its buildings, stripped bare of cedar. (15) This is the glorious city that felt secure and said, "I am the only one!" Now it's merely ruins, a home for wild animals. Every passerby simply sneers and makes vulgar signs.

(13) And he will stretch out his hand against the north, and destroy Assyria; and will make Nineveh a desolation, a place of drought like the wilderness. (14) (14) And flocks shall lie down in the midst of her, all the crowd of beasts; both the pelican and the bittern shall lodge in the chapiters thereof; a voice shall sing in the windows; desolation shall be on the thresholds: for he hath laid bare the cedar work. (15) This is the rejoicing city that dwelt in security, that said in her heart, I am, and there is none else beside me: how is she become a desolation, a couching-place for beasts! Every one that passeth by her shall hiss, shall wave his hand.

(12) You also, O Cushites, shall be slain by my sword. (13) And he will stretch out his hand against the north and destroy Assyria, and he will make Nineveh a desolation, a dry waste like the desert. (14) Herds shall lie down in her midst, all kinds of beasts; even the owl and the hedgehog shall lodge in her capitals; a voice shall hoot in the window; devastation will be on the threshold; for her cedar work will be laid bare. (15) This is the exultant city that lived securely, that said in her heart, "I am, and there is no one else." What a desolation she has become, a lair for wild beasts! Everyone who passes by her hisses and shakes his fist.

Zephaniah 2:10-15 GW ...This is what they will get for their sinful pride, because they insulted the people who belong to the LORD  ( ) of Armies and made themselves greater than them. (11) The LORD  ( ) will terrify them, because he will make all the gods of the earth waste away. So every person from every coast and nation will bow to him. (12) "Even you, the people from Sudan, you will also die by my sword." (13) The LORD  ( ) will use his power against the north and destroy Assyria. He will turn Nineveh into a deserted ruin, a dried up wasteland like the desert. (14) Flocks will lie down in it along with animals of every kind. Even pelicans and herons will nest on top of its columns. Listen! A bird will sing in a window. The doorway will be in ruins, because the LORD will expose the cedar beams. (15) Is this the arrogant city? Is this the city that used to live securely, the city that used to think to itself, "I'm the only one, and no one else exists but me"? What a wasteland it is now, a resting place for wild animals! All who pass by it will hiss and make an obscene gesture.

(14) And flocks shall lie down in her midst; all the beasts of a nation; both the pelican and the bittern shall lodge in the capitals of its pillars. A voice shall sing at the window; ruin shall be at the doorsill; for the cedar work He will bare. (15) This is the joyful city, dwelling confidently, who says in her heart, I am, and there is yet no other. How she has become a ruin, a restingplace for animals! Everyone who passes near her shall hiss; he shall shake his hand!
