1 John 4:7-15 MWT
7 Beloved ones, let us continue loving one another, because love is from God, and everyone who loves is a child of God and gains the knowledge of God. 8 He that does not love has not come to know God, because God is love. 9 By this the love of God was made plain to us, because God sent forth his only-begotten Son into the world to give us life. 10 Real love isn't that we have loved God, but that he loved us and sent forth his Son as an appeasing (or atoning) sacrifice for our sins. 11 Beloved ones, if this is how God loved us, then we are ourselves under obligation to love one another. 12 At no time has anyone seen God. If we continue loving one another, it shows God's love remains in us and is made perfect in us. 13 By this we gain the knowledge that we are living in union with him and he remains in union with us, because he has given us his spirit (of love). 14 An additional sign we are God's children is that we ourselves have beheld and are bearing witness that the Father has sent forth his Son as Savior of the world. 15 God stays with whoever makes the confession that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and such persons are in union with God.

1 John 4:7-15 CEV
(7) My dear friends, we must love each other. Love comes from God, and when we love each other, it shows that we have been given new life. We are now God's children, and we know him. (8) God is love, and anyone who doesn't love others has never known him. (9) God showed his love for us when he sent his only Son into the world to give us life. (10) Real love isn't our love for God, but his love for us. God sent his Son to be the sacrifice by which our sins are forgiven. (11) Dear friends, since God loved us this much, we must love each other. (12) No one has ever seen God. But if we love each other, God lives in us, and his love is truly in our hearts. (13) God has given us his Spirit. That is how we know that we are one with him, just as he is one with us. (14) God sent his Son to be the Savior of the world. We saw his Son and are now telling others about him. (15) God stays one with everyone who openly says that Jesus is the Son of God. That's how we stay one with God

1 John 4:7-15 GW
(7) Dear friends, we must love each other because love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born from God and knows God. (8) The person who doesn't love doesn't know God, because God is love. (9) God has shown us his love by sending his only Son into the world so that we could have life through him. (10) This is love: not that we have loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the payment for our sins. (11) Dear friends, if this is the way God loved us, we must also love each other. (12) No one has ever seen God. If we love each other, God lives in us, and his love is perfected in us. (13) We know that we live in him and he lives in us because he has given us his Spirit. (14) We have seen and testify to the fact that the Father sent his Son as the Savior of the world. (15) God lives in those who declare that Jesus is the Son of God, and they live in God.

1 John 4:7-15 ALT
(7) Beloved, let us be loving one another, because love is from God, and every one loving has been begotten from God and knows God. (8) The one not loving did not know [or, come to know] God, because God is love [or, is as to His essence love]. (9) By this was the love of God revealed in us, because God has sent His only-begotten [or, uniquely-begotten] Son into the world, so that we should live through Him. (10) In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son [as] a propitiation [or, appeasing sacrifice] concerning our sins. (11) Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to be loving one another. (12) No one has seen God at any time. If we are loving one another, God abides in us, and His love has been perfected in us. (13) By this we know that we abide in Him, and He in us, because He has given to us of His Spirit. (14) And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son [as] Savior of the world! (15) Whoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God.

You will note the reference windows often include more than one translation of the Bible. The reason is to strive to gain the best possible understanding of the original Hebrew and Greek. Since we don't speak those languages, we rely on those who have come before and made the effort to translate those texts into English for us. Considering several translations gives the benefit of the understanding of several translation committees or individuals.
