These scriptures help us understand the illustration [Mat 13:10-15] Jesus's used when he commanded us to eat his flesh and drink his blood. It is not taking a cracker and wine from some elevated [in the eyes of humans] religious official. We eat the body and drink the blood of Christ by simply listening to him and taking to heart his teachings. In the same way his Father's directions give him life, Jesus's words  become food in us to sustain our life forever.

John 6:53 GNB Jesus said to them, "I am telling you the truth: if you do not eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you will not have life in yourselves.

John 6:57 GW The Father who has life sent me, and I live because of the Father. So those who feed on me will live because of me.

Revelation 19:13 ALT and having been clothed with a robe having been covered with [or, dipped in] blood, and His name is called, The Word [or, the Expression of the Logic] of God.

John 6:63 GNB What gives life is God's Spirit; human power is of no use at all. The words I have spoken to you bring God's life-giving Spirit.

Matthew 4:4 GNB But Jesus answered, "The scripture says, 'Human beings cannot live on bread alone, but need every word that God speaks.' "

John 4:34 GNB "My food," Jesus said to them, "is to obey the will of the one who sent me and to finish the work he gave me to do.

You will note the reference windows often include more than one translation of the Bible. The reason is to strive to gain the best possible understanding of the original Hebrew and Greek. Since we don't speak those languages, we rely on those who have come before and made the effort to translate those texts into English for us. Considering several translations gives the benefit of the understanding of several translation committees or individuals.
