Mark 9:1-8 NWT 9 Furthermore, he went on to say to them: “Truly I say to YOU, There are some of those standing here that will not taste death at all until first they see the kingdom of God already come in power.”* 2 Accordingly six days later Jesus took Peter and James and John along, and brought them up into a lofty mountain to themselves alone. And he was transfigured before them, 3 and his outer garments became glistening, far whiter than any clothes cleaner on earth could whiten them. *[This was the promised vision or preview of Jesus in kingdom power.] 4 Also, E·li´jah with Moses appeared to them, and they were conversing with Jesus. 5 And responsively Peter said to Jesus: “Rabbi, it is fine for us to be here, so let us erect three tents, one for you and one for Moses and one for E·li´jah.” 6 In fact, he did not know what response he should make, for they became quite fearful. 7 And a cloud formed, overshadowing them, and a voice came out of the cloud: “This is my Son, the beloved; listen to him.” [Psa. 2:7; Gen. 22:2; Deut. 18:15] 8 Suddenly, however, they looked around and saw no one with them any longer, except Jesus alone.

Mark 9:1-8 GNB And he went on to say, "I tell you, there are some here who will not die until they have seen the Kingdom of God come with power."* (2) Six days later Jesus took with him Peter, James, and John, and led them up a high mountain, where they were alone. You will note the reference windows often include more than one translation of the Bible. The reason is to strive to gain the best possible understanding of the original Hebrew and Greek. Since we don't speak those languages, we rely on those who have come before and made the effort to translate those texts into English for us. Considering several translations gives the benefit of the understanding of several translation committees or individuals.
