••• You should recognize and know "and use" God's Hebrew Name! It is יהוה and sounds like to English speakers... God Himself wrote with his own finger on stone tablets He then gave to Moses. (Exo 31:18) Using the Diving Name of our Creator is a uniting force in this divided world! •••

Matthew 24:6-22 ESV ...And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not alarmed, for this must take place, but the end is not yet. (7) For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places. (8) All these [tribulations] are but the beginning of the birth pains. (9) "Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and put you to death, and you will be hated by all nations for my name's sake. (10) And then many will fall away and betray one another and hate one another. (11) And many false prophets will arise and lead many astray. (12) And because lawlessness will be increased, the love of many will grow cold. (13) But the one who endures to the end will be saved. (14) And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come. (15) "So when you see the abomination of desolation spoken of by the prophet Daniel, standing in the holy place (let the reader understand), (Dan 11:31; Dan 12:11) (16) then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. (17) Let the one who is on the housetop not go down to take what is in his house, (18) and let the one who is in the field not turn back to take his cloak. (19) And alas for women who are pregnant and for those who are nursing infants in those days! (20) Pray that your flight may not be in winter or on a Sabbath. (21) For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now, no, and never will be. (22) And if those days had not been cut short, no human being would be saved. But for the sake of the elect those days will be cut short.

These verses speak of the "Great Tribulation," and our need to distinguish it from the lesser tribulation of "those days" or "the beginning of childbirth pains." That lesser tribulation began in 607 BCE, when God's earthly kingdom was temporarily destroyed. (Mat 24:8 of 3-8) The "Great Tribulation" (see verse 21) began in 1914, also marking the year God's Kingdom was restored to the earth, by Christ being seated in heaven as King of יהוה's Kingdom. (Luke 1:30-33; 1 Cor 15:12-28) Jesus referenced the prophecy of Daniel and said we would see the disgusting thing that caused desolation standing in a holy place. That disgusting thing is all these religious sects, some of them even using the name of Jesus Christ as they spout their doctrinal lies in what they assert is God's service. Remember, making clear he was explaining our need to identify the "Great Tribulation" as a sign of his presence, in verse 8, Jesus said about the woes he had previously spoken of: "All these things are a beginning of pangs of distress..."

Matthew 24:6-22 CEV ...You will soon hear about wars and threats of wars, but don't be afraid. These things will have to happen first, but that isn't the end. (7) Nations and kingdoms will go to war against each other. People will starve to death, and in some places there will be earthquakes. (8) But this is just the beginning of troubles. (9) You will be arrested, punished, and even killed. Because of me, you will be hated by people of all nations. (10) Many will give up and will betray and hate each other. (11) Many false prophets will come and fool a lot of people. (12) Evil will spread and cause many people to stop loving others. (13) But if you keep on being faithful right to the end, you will be saved. (14) When the good news about the kingdom has been preached all over the world and told to all nations, the end will come. (15) Someday you will see that "Horrible Thing" in the holy place, just as the prophet Daniel said. Everyone who reads this must try to understand! (Dan 11:31; Dan 12:11) (16) If you are living in Judea at that time, run to the mountains. (17) If you are on the roof of your house, don't go inside to get anything. (18) If you are out in the field, don't go back for your coat. (19) It will be a terrible time for women who are expecting babies or nursing young children. (20) And pray that you won't have to escape in winter or on a Sabbath. (21) This will be the worst time of suffering since the beginning of the world, and nothing this terrible will ever happen again. (22) If God doesn't make the time shorter, no one will be left alive. But because of God's chosen ones, he will make the time shorter.

Matthew 24:6-22 LITV ...But you are going to hear of wars and rumors of wars. See, do not be terrified. For all things must take place, but the end is not yet. (7) For nation will be raised against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; and there will be famines and plagues and earthquakes against many places. (8) But all these are a beginning of throes. (9) Then they will deliver you up to affliction, and will kill you, and you will be hated by all nations because of My name. (10) And then many will be offended, and they will deliver up one another and will hate one another. (11) And many false prophets will be raised and will cause many to err. (12) And because lawlessness shall have been multiplied, the love of the many will grow cold. (13) But the one who endures to the end, that one will be kept safe. (14) And this gospel of the Kingdom shall be preached in all the earth for a testimony to all the nations, and then will come the end. (15) Then when you see the abomination of desolation, which was spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place (the one reading, let him understand), (Dan 11:31; Dan 12:11) (16) then let those in Judea flee into the mountains; (17) the one on the housetop, let him not go down to take anything out of his house; (18) and the one in the field, let him not turn back to take his garment. (19) But woe to the ones having a child in womb, and to those suckling in those days! (20) And pray that your flight will not occur in winter nor in a sabbath. (21) For there will be great affliction, such as has not happened from the beginning of the world until now, no, nor ever will be. (22) And except those days were shortened, not any flesh would be saved. But on account of the elect, those days will be shortened.

Matthew 24:6-22 NWT ...YOU are going to hear of wars and reports of wars; see that YOU are not terrified. For these things must take place, but the end is not yet. 7 “For nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be food shortages and earthquakes in one place after another. 8 All these things are a beginning of pangs of distress. 9 “Then people will deliver YOU up to tribulation and will kill YOU, and YOU will be objects of hatred by all the nations on account of my name. 10 Then, also, many will be stumbled and will betray one another and will hate one another. 11 And many false prophets will arise and mislead many; 12 and because of the increasing of lawlessness the love of the greater number will cool off. 13 But he that has endured to the end is the one that will be saved. 14 And this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come. 15 “Therefore, when YOU catch sight of the disgusting thing that causes desolation, as spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in a holy place, (let the reader use discernment,) (Dan 11:31; Dan 12:11) 16 then let those in Ju·de´a begin fleeing to the mountains. 17 Let the man on the housetop not come down to take the goods out of his house; 18 and let the man in the field not return to the house to pick up his outer garment. 19 Woe to the pregnant women and those suckling a baby in those days! 20 Keep praying that YOUR flight may not occur in wintertime, nor on the sabbath day; 21 for then there will be great tribulation such as has not occurred since the world’s beginning until now, no, nor will occur again. 22 In fact, unless those days were cut short, no flesh would be saved; but on account of the chosen ones those days will be cut short.

You will note the reference windows often include more than one translation of the Bible. The reason is to strive to gain the best possible understanding of the original Hebrew and Greek. Since we don't speak those languages, we rely on those who have come before and made the effort to translate those texts into English for us. Considering several translations gives the benefit of the understanding of several translation committees or individuals.
