*** These Bible verses are important so as to be able to understand much of what Jesus taught. We here see Jesus tell the woman at the well she needed to accept life giving waters from him, and those waters would well up in her to impart everlasting life. Recognizing Jesus as the Messiah, she replied that she knew the Messiah was coming and he would teach them all things openly. The woman thus recognized the water Jesus told her to accept was the teachings he brought her. That's important to understand because throughout Jesus's teachings you will hear him talk about accepting his water, drinking his blood, (John 6:53-58) eating his flesh, and gathering to feed on his remains (or his body). (Mat 24:3 and Mat 24:21-28) Jesus also said his own food was to be doing the will of his Father. (John 4:34) All these descriptive terms by Jesus mean simply that we must become infused with Jesus's teachings because they are his Father's teachings and provide life. They must become our food so they are what we are made of and who we are. We must realize they are the sustenance of our life. (John 17:3) That's why he said he is the bread that came down from heaven. (John 6:28-33 and John 6:35-40) He wasn't kidding! An intimate knowledge of his teachings become an internal spring that wells up inside you to impart everlasting life. Viewed another way: Your personal knowledge of what Christ taught is your source for God's spirit. (John 14:25-27) God's spirit, then, is what will keep you alive during the destruction of this dying world system. (Luke 21:28) A personal knowledge of the teachings of Christ seem to equate with the return to mankind of the tree of life.

You will note the reference windows often include more than one translation of the Bible. The reason is to strive to gain the best possible understanding of the original Hebrew and Greek. Since we don't speak those languages, we rely on those who have come before and made the effort to translate those texts into English for us. Considering several translations gives the benefit of the understanding of several translation committees or individuals.
