What is truth and what is the reward of knowing it? Are there some common pitfalls of life which we might avoid simply by our heeding a warning about them? We consider that subject exhaustively on this site. We seek truth because we believe knowledge of truth is the most important aspect of life! First in importance is knowledge of our Creator's existence, and then we need to build faith He is good. (Hebrews 11:6) We also need to have knowledge of the God's provision of life through our manifest faith in the ransom provision of his son Christ Jesus. (Matthew 21:21-22 and John 6:28-33) With recognizing the goodness of our Father comes the knowledge he is the God of truth (Psalms 31:5) and that He can never lie. (Titus 1:2) There is also knowledge of the one who made himself God's enemy: (Ezekiel_28:14-15) The one who is the liar and the father of the lie. (John_8:44) Truth is no part of satan. Truth is not connected with the one who misused the gift of free will to become a rebellious son. Satan is not sorry for all the damage and pain he has caused. He never will be. (Revelation_20:10) Can you see, though, how knowledge of these things is the very foundation of truth?

What about those who speak the opposite of truth? Might it be that we are all guilty of speaking what is not truth about our God? Might we all be guilty of lying about our Father? There are at least three groups or categories people might find themselves in with regard to speaking truth; Or lying. We should start by recognizing "lying" as the accurate term for saying what is not true.

1. The first group we might find ourselves in is comprised of those who are determined to define what they believe; to define what truth is; by means of the teachings of our Creator. Even so, such people still lie and spread untruth every time they make a mistake about what the Bible teaches, because of their imperfection. (James_3:2) God forgives such errors, based upon the sincere faith of such individuals in the redemptive power of the shed blood of Christ Jesus. (Galatians_3:26) As they gain more knowledge; As they gain a better understanding of Bible truth, such persons continually try to do better. By this method, such individuals define themselves to be noble minded.

2. The second group are those who maliciously spread lies; For what ever reason they might conjure up in their mind as a justification for doing so. By this choice they are making themselves the seed of satan. (John_8:44) If they persist, it will cost them their very lives. Hopefully, we are not in this category.

The first two groups are clear cut and easy to understand.

3. A third group, however, is one we are all in danger of falling into. Every single person probably does fall into it from time to time. It is comprised of individuals who start out in the first group, of noble minded persons, but then lose their way. It seems the way or reason most suffer this fall, is by starting to define truth for themselves which is not supported in scripture. They are likely sincere in doing so, perhaps because it is appropriate for us all to be able to make a defense of our scriptural hope. (1_Peter_3:15) Many persons may thus start their trek into this third group in trying to define and defend their faith. Since we all make mistakes in forming our understanding of truth, we all wind up with erroneous beliefs. Growing to Christian maturity means being willing to get rid of those mistakes of understanding. (Hebrews 5:14) Sadly, as their increasing knowledge of truth (from the Bible) starts to contradict what some have formed as their faith, they don't want to adjust their thinking. Because of pride in what they had written in defense of their faith, or for what ever other reason, they want to defend and maintain the faith they had fabricated for themselves. One source of danger: Many start to maintain a long list of writings, or teachings, that have become their customs and traditions; And which they and their organization adhere to. At that point, they may sacrifice remaining sincere Bible students. Bible students continually adjust their faith through a better understanding of the Bible. This third group start trying to defend the beliefs their organization has formed and written for themselves. That defines the point at which they become lost as to scriptural progress. Since they have started teaching, and believing, what they are taught by a group of men, some of which is not in harmony with Bible teachings, they actually become members of group 2: They become liars. While it might have started as an error in sincerity, as they unrepentantly defend the belief of their group in the light of their own writings (often calling them spiritual food), it becomes willful sin (a lie) on their part. The Bible is spiritual food in that it comes from our Creator - it was inspired by Him. (2 Timothy 3:16-17 ; 2 Peter 1:21) According to the Bible, any who suggest they have additional writings which compare with the Bible are liars. (Revelation_22:18-19) This third group is a serious danger for all. (Galatians 1:8-9)

To avoid falling victim, you must examine every religious thing you hear in the light of what the Bible teaches. (Acts 17:11) We herein strive to teach what the Bible teaches, and only what the Bible teaches. We make that attempt to avoid going beyond the things written. (1_Corinthians_4:6) Additionally, we strive to remain ready to adjust our thinking on any matter, based upon a clearer understanding of the Bible theme. We pray to remain so! We encourage your support to do so.

Once someone believes a lie, by assuming a fact which actually is not Bible truth; he is in grave danger of doing harm to himself and to others. As we develop this site, we will no doubt make many mistakes. The intent of presenting the information is to define and state beliefs which are based on the Bible. When our understanding is in harmony with the scriptures, we will, of course, be completely safe. Knowing we will probably make mistakes in our understanding, however, we cautiously extend the warning for all to examine the scriptures to prove for themselves that the ideas presented have root in the Bible. Never give your support to anything as truth, if you do not personally know it comes from the Bible. No sincere person or group should expect you to do that. The hope is, as we continue to build the mental picture of truth; it is, and will always be, supported by the Bible theme. We strive to support our understanding by as many scriptures as we can focus on it. In so doing, our own personal mental picture of truth will come more and more in line with the truth our Creator set out in the Bible. There is, for those on that course, only one truth. (Ephesians_4:5&6) The intent is an understanding that if our hope isn't fully supported by "all scripture," there is some error in our thinking. (2_Timothy_3:16) We want to root out of our faith every single belief that is not clearly supported by the Bible. If you have some picture of truth other than what we herein outline, and which is supported by "all scripture," we would very much like to hear it! We don't expect to find large differences! (Ephesians_4:4)

Science is one form of truth. Those who study the laws of science, which were put in place by our Creator, are able to accomplish great things. Metallurgy has led to the mighty buildings and complicated machines that result from that truth. Chemistry results in medicines and the fuels for those machines. Electronics, and the resultant devices lead to more comfortable lives are rooted in truth. From electronics spring computers, making it easier to study, and allowing us to gain a better understanding of God's word; And to see how mankind's history is bound up in the unfolding of the Bible's theme. In all scientific study, men who make progress are bound in the physical laws God put in place to govern the universe. They can never, under any circumstance, deny those physical laws. Einstein was a man who believed in truth. When someone postulated a theory that contradicted some of his work, Einstein dismissed it out of hand. He said simply that God does not play dice with the universe. Mr. Einstein had studied the truth of physics and had come to depend upon it. He no longer needed to entertain thoughts contrary to the laws he had learned. Even more is that so, with scriptural truth! As you learn what is Bible truth, what is not becomes obvious and can be easily dismissed. There are spiritual laws in place just the same as the laws of physics. When Christ said there is more happiness in giving than there is in receiving, he was not lying. That is an absolutely true! When the Bible teaches a man will reap what he sows, that is a law that can not be denied. One illustration is in any man (or woman) who chooses to become bad. If he is a liar and a cheat, a man willing to step on others to get benefit for himself, he in some measure sets his own punishment. He is forced to believe others are just like he is. If he loves a woman, he must believe she is the same hurtful cheater he is. He may try to pretend otherwise, even to himself, but in his heart of hearts he has made that his truth. He has defined it for himself by his own choices. Such a person can never trust anyone, and he can never have the satisfaction of believing he is doing his best to be upright. Worst of all, the truth of the Bible will appear as foolishness to him. (1_Corinthians_1:18-25) If such a man doesn't gain knowledge of truth and repent, he can not have God's protection. He will finally die for his own badness. (2_Chronicles_25:4) Just as the laws of physics are important to scientific progress, knowledge of Jehovah's spiritual laws and/or principles are important to spiritual progress.

That is the purpose of this web site, to gain and share knowledge of those Bible principles. We try to be cautious not to make assumptions about spiritual matters, and thus be going beyond what is written in the Bible. We can have absolute faith from the Bible that Jesus has come a second time, as king (Daniel_2:44) of God's kingdom, and that he will bring peace on earth. (Acts_1:6) That is clearly stated. (Matthew_24:30-31) When that is going to happen, is not as easy to understand. Still, the Bible does shed light on it. We strive to strike a balance of developing a solid faith in Bible prophecy, while remembering we are just imperfect men who should be working out our own salvation with fear and trembling. (Philippians_2:12) We strive not to render judgment over the faith of others. (Luke 9:49-50)

Not to be overlooked in considering what knowledge of truth can give you; is happiness. (Romans 15:10-13) However, just as in the days of Noah, we live in a world that is being replaced with a new one, because it is wicked. (Luke 17:26-30) Being happy in our day does not mean being "perfectly happy," as it will mean in the future. For now, we suffer the tribulation of being witness to a dying world system. (John 16:21) Our happiness, for now, must come from knowing God's will is being accomplished; And that we are supporting that effort by talking with others about Bible truth. Soon our tribulation will be over, and those who love our Father will enjoy life to the full; forever. (Isaiah 11:1-12 ; 2 Corinthians 4:1-6) We need to make ourselves part of the family of Christ Jesus by knowing what he taught, and then guiding our lives by that knowledge. (Matthew 12:46-50) The decision of whether we have faith hangs on whether we show love for others. (Matthew 22:37-40)
